Shin & Fumihiko Boss Guide — Denshattack! Chapter 3
Shin and Fumihiko are the chapter three boss duo in Denshattack! — rockabilly mechanic brothers who test Emi Araki inside a steam-powered castle called the Yaoyorozudo that rises from the ground on crab legs with a pompadour cannon and arena-rock stereo system. Undercoders director David Jaumandreu told Gaming Trend each boss ties to its gang leader's personality; Fumihiko and Shin modded an old castle with scrapped automobile parts. DualShockers ranked this encounter as the game's standout boss — above Madoka's baseball duel and Yoshie's mecha fight.
Story Setup
Emi coaxes Fumihiko down from his mountain lair, but he refuses to join as mechanic until she proves herself. Shin and Fumihiko occupy a local castle that transforms into the Yaoyorozudo war machine — the ultimate rockabilly arena-rocker test before deeper Kanto progression.
Phase Overview
| Phase | Goal |
|---|---|
| Opening rails and walls | Switch between middle and left rails; route around eight cannonballs on walls |
| Fire-ring charge loop | Jump through each fire ring with a trick to build the rainbow rail |
| Interior entry | Horn attack immediately, then trick through the first yellow door inside the mech |
| Mech tunnel | High jump when walls shake; avoid propellers; open yellow doors with tricks |
| Record slam section | Jump and slam onto pink stars as they appear on spinning turntables |
| Half-pipe hazards | Ride around flaming eight-balls; adjust left and right continuously |
| Final rainbow climb | Ride rainbow rail up the boss exterior; slam each opening; finish with top hit |
Key Mechanics
- Rainbow rail creation — Tricks through fire rings charge the rail path; missing a ring delays interior access.
- Horn (L button) — Required immediately on interior entry before yellow door tricks.
- Yellow doors — Trick through each door inside the mech tunnel to progress.
- Turntable stomps — Pink star markers on records indicate slam timing windows.
- Exhaust decouple — Late phase requires riding up the weakened Rocker and stomping the main cannon for the explosive finish.
DualShockers Ranking Context
DualShockers' launch-week boss ranking places Shin & Fumihiko at #1 for spectacle and mechanical variety — 8-Ball cannonballs destroying track segments, flame waves building combo meter, interior turntable destruction, and a trench rematch against weakened cannon fire. Expect the longest phase count of any early-campaign boss.
Preparation
- Master horn timing from controls overview — interior entry fails without it.
- Reliable intermediate tricks from trick systems guide for fire-ring rainbow charge.
- Complete Madoka boss guide rematch first — baseball reflects teach air-trick timing reused here.
